JCI Membership Growth and Development Director for Europe
About the Organization
Junior Chamber International (JCI) is an international membership-based non-governmental organization in over 100 countries with the mission of providing development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change. JCI members form a global network of nearly 200,000 active citizens seeking targeted solutions to the problems they see in their communities to build a better world.
Job Description/Principle Responsibilities
The Growth and Development Director for Europe will be responsible for the execution of the Secretary General’s program of activities in Europe, rendering growth and development assistance in accordance with the JCI Plan of Action, and carrying out the necessary field work in accordance with the growth and development plan in Europe. The Director will serve at the direction of and report directly to the Executive Director for Growth and Development.
Qualifications
- Capable of successfully promoting growth and development in JCI in Europe
- Knows the organization and is passionate about the JCI Mission, Vision and Values
- Is preferably a current JCI member
- Has a university degree
- Fluent in English (required) and (preferably) has working knowledge of other European languages
- Able to travel internationally to promote JCI in Europe; work at JCI Europe meetings including the JCI European Conference; attend JCI meetings in at the JCI World Headquarters in Chesterfield, Missouri, U.S.A.; and work at the annual JCI World Congress.
- Has JCI experience at the local and national levels
- Has attended a JCI Conference and Congress
- Thinks critically and acts decisively to address the needs of the members
- Constantly seeks resourceful, innovative and cost-effective solutions to provide resources to National and Local Organizations
- Embraces a dynamic work environment and drives progress in all activities
- Exhibits an energetic and positive attitude, even in the face of challenge and adversity
- Builds rapport and trust easily with others
- Communicates clearly, persuasively and diplomatically with individuals of any background
- Observant and sensitive to different cultural expectations and standards
- Strong professionalism and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and delegate appropriately in a high-pressure environment
- Experienced public speaker and presenter
It is recommended that candidates for the position of Growth and Development Director for Europe attend the JCI European Conference in Tarragona, Spain, in June 2011.
